Earth Day Walk 2009 Details

Meeting for the WALK:

We suggest that you rest on Saturday, April 18th after the potluck (if you are joining us for the Walk) before meeting at E Street Cafe (128 W E Steet in Encinitas, 92024) at 11:45pm. We will begin walking at 12:00am the night of the 18th/19th. We will have a sign and will be walking the mapped route 101. See map route for approximate arrival times at major intersections south of Encinitas if you wish to join in along the way. You can also contact Sofia or Holly.

There will be a potluck held at Yoga Swamis in Encinitas before the walk on Saturday the 18th of April. Contact us for more details.

We encourage you to meet up with us along the way from the closest route point from where you live, and not drive to Encinitas. The purpose is to not burn fossil fuels. You can look into bus schedules or alternate transit routes to avoid driving to the walking route.
You can view transportation to the route here:
http://www.sdmts.com/ or http://www.sdcommute.com/

From the starting point in Encinitas, it will be a 27 mile walk. According to the walking route, it will take approximately 9 hours to complete. To receive the complimentary items (t-shirt, water in a glass bottle, and acai bowl), you must register and walk at least 10k with the group.

We will arrive at Earth Day in Balboa Park in the morning around 9 am to enjoy the festivities and celebrate!

Returning:
There are several ways to return to the point from where you began walking. San Diego Earth Works has many transportation options if you visit their website, www.earthdayweb.org i.e. the bus, trains, ride-shares, etc. You can plan your trip at http://www.sdmts.com/ or http://www.sdcommute.com/. You can also contact either Sofia or Holly if you have any questions or would like to be a rideshare.

Each registered participant will recieve a complimentary organic cotton t-shirt with our logo, water in a glass bottle from Palomar Mountain Spring Water and a yummy acai bowl from Mozy Cafe upon arrival at the Earth Day Fair.

If you would like to walk please Register here.

If you are not able to walk but would like to contribute to this event please
